DRESDEN ? George G. Williams, 84, of Dresden, Ohio died Sunday morning, March 22, 2009 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. Born February 26, 1925 in Jackson, Ohio, he was the son of the late Dale and Ida Belle (Helman) Williams and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Williams was retired from his own heating and cooling business, known as G & R Heating and Cooling which he operated with his late wife, Ruth. He was a member of the Dresden American Legion and the Zanesville Eagles. Surviving is one son, Daniel Richards of Dresden; two daughters, Robin (Stanley) Tackett and Adina (Rick) Roberts, both of Dresden; two brothers, Tom (Helen) Williams of Jackson, Ohio and Larry (Mary) Williams of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mary (Melvin) Christian of Jackson and Deloris (Gene) McMannis of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Timothy (Rebecca) Tackett, Matthew Tackett, James (Jessica) Tackett, Jason (Jessica) Roberts, Joey Roberts, Jake Richards, Elizabeth (Paul) Wilson, Mackenzie Richards and Madison Richards; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. (Romans) Williams who died February 22, 2008; a daughter, Stephanie Williams and a sister, Cleo Baker. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service, which will be 1:00pm Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Andrew Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
