FRAZEYSBURG ? Funeral services for George L. Stoots, 69, of Nashport, Ohio will be 11:00am Thursday, June 15, 2006 in the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Stoots died Monday morning, June 12, 2006 at the Newark Health Care Center. Born January 20, 1937 in Pulaski, Virginia, he was the son of the late Dewey and Rose (Jones) Stoots. Mr. Stoots was a retired foreman with Tectum, Inc. of Newark and he enjoyed playing the guitar and bowling. Surviving is his wife, Lois C. (Claypool) Stoots, whom he married October 4, 1958, two sons, Donald (Crystal) Stoots of Roanoke, Virginia and David Stoots of Upper Arlington, Ohio; three daughters, Diana (Mike) Tanner of Newark, Carol (Brent) Hall of Hanover and Brenda (Steve Proffit) Stoots of Nashport; eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Danielle Stoots, Stephanie and Lindsay Tanner, Hunter and Hayli Hall and Darin and Mikayla Proffit; one brother, Kenneth Stoots of Radford, Virginia; one sister, Leanne Bentley of Miamisburg, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and William Stoots and two sisters, Peggy Brown and Geraldine Jarrells. Calling hours will be 6 to 8pm Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the funeral home, 110 West Third Street, Frazeysburg, Ohio.
