George M. Locke, 83, of Hanover, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2022 at his home.

Born June 4, 1939 in Fallsbury Township of Licking County, he was a son of the late Boyd and Pearl (Barcus) Locke and was a 1957 graduate of Union High School.  George proudly served our country as a member of the United States Army from 1962 to 1964.  In 1994 he retired from Cooper Energy Services of Mt. Vernon where he was an inspector.  George was a member of Hanover Presbyterian Church, Hanover American Legion, Licking Valley Lions Club, Heath Eagles and the Bowling Association.  He was a very avid bowler and an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying deer hunting.

Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia L. (Berry) Locke whom he married June 12, 1965; two sons, Warren (Pamela) Locke of Newark and Paul Locke of Frazeysburg; three grandchildren, Sharayah (Josh) Burns, Anthony Locke and Brandon Locke and four great grandchildren, Ryder, Braelynn, Jensen and Paxton.  Also surviving is one brother, Leon (Karen) Locke of Warsaw and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 10:30am to 1:00pm Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Heather Thum-Gerber officiating.  George will be laid to rest in Hanover Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, Hanover American Legion or Hanover Presbyterian Church.
