NEWARK : A private graveside service for George Hughes, 98 of Newark will be Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mark Farmer officiating.

Mr. Hughes died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Kindred of Newark. He was born March 19, 1915 in Coshocton County to the late Orville and Mary Grace (Howell) Hughes. A graduate of Denison University, Mr. Hughes retired from Owens-Corning where he worked as an Industrial Engineer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and on Finance Committee. He was also a member of Phi Delta Theta.

Survivors include his children, Carol A. (Doug) Lyle of Aiken, SC, Linda J. (Jim) Ward of Newfane, NY, and J. Robert Hughes of Newark; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
