A funeral service for George Harold Bradley, 73 of Newark will be held Monday December 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Bradley died Friday December 5, 2008 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 25, 1935 in Greenup County, Kentucky to the late Santford and Sarah (Skaggs) Bradley. He retired in 1996 with 30 years service from Newark Fence Company. He was a member of Local Union # 423 and the Newark Eagles. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also spent many hours outdoors; walking, bicycling and tending to yard work. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marie L. (Wilson) Bradley, whom he married November 4, 1977; children, Samantha (Jason) Wilson, Joseph (Julia) Gast both of Newark; sister, Roberta (Dick) Hay of KY.; brothers, Richard (Nancy) Griffith of MI., Elmer (Donna) Griffith of MI.; grandchildren, Caleb Wilson, Tanner Wilson, Ashleigh Gavorcik, Cheyenne Hupp, Lenzie Hupp; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Calling hours will be observed Monday from noon till 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street.
