Gene M. Prince, 75, of Trinway, Ohio passed away Tuesday morning, August 12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 6, 1939 in Dresden, Ohio he was a son of the late John and Alice (Skinner) Prince and was a 1957 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mr. Prince was a machinist and he retired in 1998 with over 35 years of service with Anchor Hocking/Zanesville Mold. He enjoyed traveling and sports, but received his most enjoyment just being with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two son, Michael Prince and Matthew Prince, both of Dresden; two daughters, Annette (Perry) Woerner of Nashport, Ohio and Angela (Randy) Stotts of Dresden; nine grandchildren, Kristin Prince, Casie Prince, Morgan Prince, Megan Woerner, Thomas Woerner, Mallory (James) Vansickle, Brooke Stotts, Alyssa (Jake) Gaswint and Braden Stotts; eleven great grandchildren; four brothers, Edmund (Toni) Prince, Paul (Daune) Prince and Dale (Patti) Prince, all of Dresden and Richard (Martha) Prince of Trinway; two sisters, Martha Lear and Dorothy Summers, both of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Charlene K. (Rogers) Prince whom he married November 14, 1959 and who died August 8, 2013; a brother, William Prince; a sister Mary Louise Prince and a great granddaughter, Kadence Prince.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, August 15, 2014 at the funeral home with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
