Gary Wilson Hofacker age 87 of Athens, Alabama passed away Friday April 18, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Hofacker was born July 16, 1937 in Fremont, Ohio. He was a graduate of Port Clinton High School class of 1955 He was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, and a United States Marine Corp Veteran. Gary was a born-again Believer in his Lord Jesus Christ and a member of Madison Baptist Church in Madison, Alabama.
Survivors, Wife of 61 years Janet Nethers Hofacker of Athens. Sons, Chris (Beth) Hofacker of Sandusky, Ohio. Michael Hofacker of Noblesville, Indiana and Scott (Susan) Hofacker of Athens. Grandchildren, Heather (Matt) Maurer. Myles (Anna) Hofacker. Lindsey (Jordan) Rockwell. Alicia (Victor) Barker. Erika (Ivan) Diaz. Wyatt Hofacker. Clayton Hofacker. Faith (Jacob) Peyton. Marshal Hofacker. Great Grandchildren, Presley and Adley Barker. Jonah, Morgan and Archer Rockwell..Ian, Ezra, Hannah and Judah Diaz.Brother, Larry (Sue) Hofacker of Brandon, Florida. Sister-In-Law, Trisha Kirk of Hebron, Ohio. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by His Parents, Wilson and Frances Hofacker. Sister-In-Law, Lois Shaw and Brother In Law, John Frances Shaw.
Family request donations be made to Madison Baptist Church Mission Fund.
Services will be 11 am Monday, April 21, 2025 in the Chapel of Spry Funeral Home, Athens, Alabama with Dr. Mike Allison officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10 am until service time.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at noon, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Frazeysburg Cemetery, Frazeysburg, Ohio under the direction of Vensil - Chute Funeral Home.
