In Loving Memory of Gary Michael Hall
Gary M. Hall, age 66, passed away on August 19th, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma and chronic kidney disease. Born on August 20th 1957 in Newark, Ohio he was the son of late Donald L. Hall, and M. Virginia Hall. Gary made his career as a medical technician at Licking Memorial Hospital, retiring after 30 years of service. Gary was an expert craftsman and woodworker, and passionate in his craft, creating many things for his friends and family including an heirloom cradle used by both his children and all of his grandchildren. Gary maintained great pride in his construction projects, including many remodels and the complete restoration of his brother's home after a house fire.
Gary was always a wealth of knowledge and experience which was freely given to anyone who was in need, family, friends and co-workers. Gary was always willing to lend a hand and help those in need, never afraid to roll up his sleeves and work. Always putting others before himself, Gary prided himself in being able to help his family or anyone else in need. Stopping to help a stranger stranded on the road, or guiding someone at the hardware store, Gary had never met a stranger.
Gary's journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength and resilience. His unwavering spirit in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Gary is survived by his two sons Joshua M. (Nichole) Hall of Zanesville and Matthew J. Hall of Newark; His mother M. Virginia Hall of Newark; His three brothers Steve K. Hall of Newark, Dr. Greg L. (Michelle) Hall of Jacksonville, Florida and Todd A. (Mary-Rose) Hall of Columbus; one sister, Becky Johnson of Newark; four grandchildren Kaleesi, Jasper, Mackenzie, and one expected to arrive in the fall; Many nieces and nephews; and his beloved chihuahua/pug companion, Bati Nawong (Butt-Ugly). He was preceded in death by his father Donald L. Hall.
He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, sense of humor, and the positive impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
