Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG ? Gale L. ?Scrappy? Modesitt, 59, of Fallsburg, Ohio died Saturday evening, March 24, 2007 at his home. Born July 27, 1947 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late James L. and Mary Alice (Jarrett) Modesitt and was a 1965 graduate of Union High School. Mr. Modesitt was an Army veteran having served in Viet Nam. He was employed for 33 years as a press operator at Continental Can Company of Newark and he was currently employed in the packaging department at The Newark Advocate. Surviving is his wife, Phyllis H. (Ashcraft) Modesitt whom he married February 17, 1968; one son, John (Anne) Modesitt of Fallsburg; one daughter, Jennifer (Lester) Morningstar of Fallsburg; his twin brother, Dale L. (Cheryl) Modesitt of Fallsburg; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Kodey, Benjamin and Cassy Modesitt, Jacob and Lydia Morningstar and Jessica Guy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James L. Modesitt, Jr. and Paul R. Modesitt. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Clark officiating. Burial will be in Fallsburg Cemetery with the Licking County Veterans Alliance conducting military honors.
