Gail W. Conklin, Jr., 68, of Frazeysburg, died Friday night, May 24, 2024 at his home.
Born August 24, 1955, he was a son of the late Sally L. (Garard) and Gail W. Conklin, Sr. Christian by faith, Gail proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam and was member of the Zanesville American Legion Post 29. He was owner/operator of G. W. Conklin Trucking Company and was quite a mechanic, he could fix anything from mowers to large engines. Gail never met a stranger and enjoyed all aspects of music; dancing, singing, and playing guitar. He also enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing, or spending time with family. Gail's greatest love was caring for and providing for his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Sara Chapman, and Marlayna Krofft, both of Zanesville; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; four sisters, Linda (Larry) Brailer of Nashport, Kathy (David) Webber of Mt. Vernon, Bonnie (Gary) King of Apex, North Carolina and Sally Brookover of Frazeysburg; three brothers, Ralph (Julie) Conklin of Cadiz, Ohio, Pat (Candy) Conklin and B.J. (Anita) Conklin, both of Frazeysburg; a very special friend, Brenda Shepard and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie P. Conklin; brother Herbert Conklin; sister, Anna Conklin and a brother in-law, Danny Brookover.
As per Gail's wishes, a private family funeral service will take place. He will be laid to rest in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
