Frederick William Bellew, 87, of Astor, Florida and Frazeysburg, Ohio died Sunday, November 9, 2014.
Born August 15, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Schuck) Bellew. Fred served his country in the Navy during World War II and retired from the Newark Air Force Base in 1978 after serving as the Section Chief in the Missile Product Division. He was an amateur photographer and enjoyed all types of outdoor activities especially gardening, bird watching, mushroom hunting, fishing and hunting wild game.
Surviving is his wife of 41 years Nancy (Fleeger) Bellew, seven children, Patty (Jack) Stokes of Frazeysburg, Mark Bellew of Zanesville, Danny Bellew of Centerberg, Matt (Naomi Powers) Bellew of Newark, Carrie (Rick) King of Frazeysburg, Benny Bellew of New York and Roxanne Bellew of Florida; fourteen grandchildren, Amber (Trevor) Zeman, Natalie (Brad) Gray, Ashley (Devin) Lyles, Bryan Bellew, Mark Austin Bellew, Rachel Bellew, Nathan Bellew, Jessica Perkins, Sam Bellew, Tabitha Bellew, Evan Harper, Lauren King, Rose Bellew and Brody Bellew; eight great grandchildren, Sydney, Seth, Olivia, Zoey, Bailey, Hudson, Arden, and Ethan; a sister, Gretchen Myers of Englewood, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Parks and Carolyn Bellew and a grandson William Bellew. He also had a special place in his heart for his friend and neighbor Ralph Kicklighter and his longtime friends Ted Quinn and Tom Bishop.
A celebration of his life will be hosted by his children on Saturday, November 22 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church, 87 West Second Street.
