A funeral service for Freda I. Ashcraft Myers, 80 of Croton will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday August 17, 2007 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Torie Front officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery. Mrs. Myers passed away Tuesday morning at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. She was born December 30, 1926 in Coshocton County to the late French and Marjorie (McKee) Ashcraft. She was a graduate of Union Local High School. Mrs. Myers was a member of Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ, Farm Bureau Council #38 and the Pairs and Spares group at Highwater Church. She enjoyed baking and especially loved spending time with her grandson, Logan. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George L. Myers, whom she married October 16, 1948; a daughter, Michelle (William) Parker of Croton; a grandson, Logan Parker of Croton; a brother Ronald (Marilyn) Ashcraft of Coshocton; a sister, Josephine Williamson of Bay City, Michigan; 3 nieces, 2 nephews; and countless friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Burdette Ashcraft. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday August 16, 2007 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highwater Congregational Church or the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
