Obituary

A funeral service for Franklin E. Troxell, 84 of Thornville will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday June 19, 2007 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Troxell passed away Friday June 15, 2007 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born October 9, 1922 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He proudly served his country in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the war in Vietnam. He spent his career in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1972. Mr. Troxell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Audrey (Kleiner) Troxell, whom he married May 11, 1946; two daughters, Judy Mouser and her companion Thomas Stark of Thornville, Susan K. Dick of Columbus; two sons, Mark Charles Troxell of Newark, David Troxell; four grandchildren, Colleen Richards, Eric (Jennifer) Smith, Alison (Curtis) Hewitt, Corinne Troxell; three great grandchildren, Eryn Loar, Ryan Hewitt, and Samantha Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road SE, Newark, Ohio 43055-9925. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
