Funeral services for Frank E. Weekley, 69 of Newark will be held Thursday June 9, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Wally McLaughlin and Pastor Harold Place officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.Mr. Weekley died Sunday June 5, 2005 at his residence. He was born October 13, 1935 in Newark, Ohio to the late Carl W. and Grace W. (Wolcott) Weekley.Mr. Weekley was a 1955 graduate of Newark High School. He retired from Roper Corporation in 1976. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas in 2001 with 23 years of service. He served six years in the Ohio National Guard, Co. B, 737 Ord. Battalion. He was a member of the Heath First Baptist Church, Promise Keepers, GMP Local # 244, and Acme Lodge # 554 F & AM. He enjoyed golf, the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He was a former member of the Roper and Owens Corning Fiberglas Bowling Leagues and had been active as a coach and umpire at North Newark Little League.He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jaunice E. (Friend) Weekley, whom he married December 25, 1958; son, Frank Edward (Susan) Weekley of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; sisters, Betty McVey and June Riggleman both of Newark; brother-in-law, Russell (Julia) Friend of Newark; sister-in-law, Mary Friend of Heath; granddaughter, Brittany; former son-in-law, Delmar (Lori) Grady of Newark; numerous nieces, nephews; pets, Domino and Metalicca.In addition to his parents, a daughter, Machelle Beth Grady, died November 11, 1993 and one sister Virginia preceded him in death.Calling hours will be observed Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
