Obituary
NEWARK: A funeral service for Frank R. â??Dickâ? Whitis, 68 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. John Minihan officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Whitis died Sunday evening at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born June 25, 1942 in Newcomerstown to the late Walter F. and Alice C. (Ulrich) Whitis. A 1960 graduate of Newark High School; Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had worked as a computer programmer for Rockwell International and later Arvin-Meritor. Dick loved his family, he was a wonderful father and especially cherished being a grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Bell) Whitis; daughters, Diana (Darryl) Lehman of Newark, Gina (Jeff) McNaught of Heath, and Tammy Whitis of Newark; grandchildren, Abbey and Bryson McNaught, Michael and Marshall Lehman; sisters, Carol Floyd, Lois (Dan) Spangler, and Louise Whitis all of Newark
Friends and family may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
