Francis E. "Peanut" Starner, 88, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Friday morning, December 21, 2012 in Tavares, Florida after a brief illness.
Born February 21, 1924 in Frazeysburg he was a son of the late Leo and Florence (Dalzell) Starner and was a 1943 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. He retired in 1984 from the signal department of Conn Rail railroad after 40 years of service. Mr. Starner attended Meadow View Church of Christ of Frazeysburg and was a member of Frazeysburg Lodge #490, F. & A. M. He was also a member of Navare, Railroad Retirees Association and had been a member of Frazeysburg Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He was an avid sports fan and was an area sports official for many years.
Surviving is one son and daughter in-law, Francis E. "Tom" Starner and his wife Janie of Frazeysburg; grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Clark of Frazeysburg, Hannah (Jason Jenkins) Starner of Korea, Jason (Heidi) Guilliams of Springfield, Ohio, Jeremy (Vanessa) Guilliams of Columbus, Ohio and Jordan (Lauren) Guilliams of Concord, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Mariah Clark, Kyle Clark, Hunter, Caleb, Kenzington, Anniston, Mary, Kix and Gunner Guilliams; great great grandchildren Brianna and Kaylee Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. (Moore) Starner whom he married July 21, 1949 and who died June 23, 2006; two sisters, Evelyn Moore and Ruth Wilcox and a brother, Irvin Starner.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Frazeysburg Lodge will conduct Masonic services at 8:00pm, following calling hours.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
