Frances E. Clark, 85, a resident at Clay House in Zanesville, formerly of Bladensburg, died Friday morning February 5, 2010 at Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville.
Mrs. Clark was born September 6, 1924 in Coshocton County, a daughter of the late Roy Lee and Lena (Hardesty) Hughes. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Dresden and following her marriage to Tom Clark, spent her life in the Bladensburg area. She was a member of the Bladensburg Presbyterian Church until its closing, the Wakatomica Garden Club for many years and had been a 4-H advisor. She had been a member of the Knox County Pomona Grange, Union Grange and the state and national grange organizations. Mrs. Clark was active in the Glenwood Chapter O.E.S. #303.
She is survived by three nieces, Karen (Mike) Maniaci of Zanesville, Bonnie (Jerry) Lavy of Zanesville, Joy (Jerry) Hassen of Fremont and three great nephews and a sister-in-law, Jean Hughes of Nashport.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Clark whom she married on January 25, 1944 and who died on July 18, 1985; a brother, Robert L. Hughes and sisters, Helen Jean Hughes and Louise Hughes.
Friends may call two hours prior to a 3PM funeral service on Monday February 8, 2010, Dr. William McClelland will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
