Frances M. Berry, 90, of Dresden, Ohio died Friday morning, November 16, 2018 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born January 7, 1928 in Killbuck, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Willis and Bessie (Pyers) Shroyer. Frances was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Dresden and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Dresden Village Association and was active at the Dresden Senior Center. She enjoyed bowling and was involved with several bowling leagues over the years. One of her passions was playing cards. She was a member of numerous card clubs and she played as recently as last week. Her greatest love was, of course, her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Mrs. Berry, along with her late husband, Junior, was owner and operator of Berry's Furniture and Carpet in Dresden for 25 years. Later she was a retail sales manager with the Longaberger Company for 15 years.
Surviving are two daughters and sons in-law, Nancy and Myron Lacy of Zanesville and Sandy and Jack Booth of Nashport; a son and daughter in-law, Tom and Sheryl Berry of Newark, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Holly, Terry, Anissa, Kimberly, Kristin, Kendra, Erica, Molly, Gavin and Branyan and nineteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Eda (Richard) Todd of Renton, Washington; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Junior C. Berry whom she married December 16, 1944 and who died January 19, 1985; a brother, Dwayne Shroyer and a sister, Mona Myers.
Calling hours will be 4pm to 7pm Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Father Donald Franks officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
