Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG ? Frances H. Ashcraft, 92, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died at 2:25am Sunday, November 4, 2007 at her home. Born June 8, 1915 in Pike Township of Coshocton County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ray and Bernice (Magruder) Gault and was a graduate of West Carlisle High School. Mrs. Ashcraft was a homemaker and a retired custodian with the Riverview School District and attended Faith Holiness Church of Martinsburg. She believed in working hard and she loved flowers and reading. She and her late husband were foster parents for over 20 years, having over 40 foster children. Surviving is one son, Ray E. (Sandy) Ashcraft of Nashport, Ohio; five daughters, Wanda (Harold) Donaker of Frazeysburg, Naomi Hubbell of Edinburg, Virginia, Phyllis Modesitt of Frazeysburg, Vivian Dermer of Frazeysburg and Ruth (Robert) Lacy of Newark, Ohio; one brother, Chester (Frances ?Happy?) Gault of Newark; one sister, Dorothy Houdeshell of Villa Hills, Kentucky; a sister in-law, Mary Gault a brother in-law, John Scrafford; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a ?special friend?, Edith Moran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Ashcraft, whom she married April 12, 1934 and who died November 17, 1982; a daughter, Wilma Ashcraft; a son, Dwight Ashcraft; a brother, Willard Gault; a sister, Margaret Scrafford; two sons in-law, James Laughlin, and Gale Modesitt; two grandsons; one great granddaughter and a brother in-law. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas Clark officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery, Coshocton County, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio or to the World Gospel Mission.
