Forrest L. Cunningham, 80, of Toboso, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2016 at Selma Markowitz Care Center in Newark, Ohio.
Born July 12, 1935 in Toboso, he was a son of the late Harold and Lillie (Middlemus) Cunningham and was a 1954 graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post #85 of Newark. He was also a member of New Home Lodge #338, F. & A. M. at Hanover; an honorary member of Frazeysburg Lodge #490, F. & A. M.; Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus; the Aladdin Shrine of Columbus and Newark Chapter #305, Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Ellen Jo (Kirkendall) Cunningham whom he married February 25, 1956; two sons, Calvin (Tammy) Cunningham of Kyle, Texas and Michael (Kandy) Cunningham of Toboso; a daughter, Kelly (Doug) Hadlock of Newark; twelve grandchildren, Christina Witherspoon, Candice Cunningham, Terry Robertson, Melissa Perry, Mikie Cunningham, Justin Cunningham, Jason Metz, Justin Metz, Chad Johnson, Kasie Johnson, Shannon Johnson and Erica Heminger; thirty-three great grandchildren; a brother, Louis (Sara) Cunningham of Toboso and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mandie Cunningham and two brothers, Harold Cunningham, Jr. and Gerald Cunningham.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Masonic services will be conducted at 8pm Wednesday, following calling hours, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens, Newark, Ohio. The Licking County Veterans Alliance will conduct Military honors at the cemetery.
