Floyd lived a full and giving life. As a young man he purchased the farm neighboring his boyhood home and began operating a dairy farm. That is where he spent his entire life until his retirement in 2010. He was involved in many activities throughout his life. He and his brother Carlos traveled to county fairs and other venues pulling tractors. When not involved in farming, he found time to cut pulp wood in the winter and to pick apples at Abele's, now Yeary's orchard.
Floyd and his family attended Bethesda Methodist Church and after its closing, they joined the Adamsville United Methodist Church. In recent years he loved attending services at Prospect United Methodist Church. He was a 75 year member of Eureka Grange and was also an active member of the Adamsville Progressive Council, Adamsville Fire Department and Muskingum County Farm Bureau. Floyd served on the Board of Education at both Adamsville Schools and Tri-Valley Schools and he was an Adams Township trustee for many years.
Surviving are four children, Dan (Diane) Hogue of Findlay, Ohio, Susie Thompson (Gil Swope) of Zanesville, Ron (Debra) Hogue of Adamsville and Sharon Ball of Zanesville; his grandchildren, Dennis Hogue, Matthew (Laura) Hogue, Jennifer (Jim) McInturf, Jerry Mohler, Roger (Theresa) Hogue, Kevin Hogue, Dale (Sonnet) Hogue and Jacob Ball. He was also proud to have eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Carlos Hogue and his wife, Waunita and his sister, Mildred Lapp and her husband, Neil. He also lost his beloved wife and the mother of his children, Jean Hogue in 1985. Later he found love again and married Jeannine Durant who died in 2009. He is currently survived by his partner, Jeannine Hannum, with whom he made his home until his recent illness.
The Hogue family would like to give a very special thanks to the staff of Adam Lane Care Center for the wonderful care given to Floyd during his final days.
