FRAZEYSBURG ? Florence E. Denman, 87, of 5450 Reform Road, NE, Newark, Ohio, died at 3:40pm Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at LPN Health Care Facility, Newark. Born March 4, 1915 in East Hanover Township of Lebanon County, Pennsylvanian, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Emma K. (Shell) Pifer and was a 1933 graduate of Jonestown High School. She was also a graduate of Bauers Secretarial School and was a telephone operator at the Indiantown Gap Military reservation. Mrs. Denman was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Jonestown, PA and attended Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women?s Association of Smith Chapel. She was also a member of the Perry Township Historical Society and various farm organizations. Surviving is one step-daughter, Mary Jane (Marion) Crawmer of Newark; three step-grandchildren, Tyrone L. (Kathi) Crawmer and Dianna L. (Rick) McPherson of Newark, and Timothy W. (Julia) Crawmer of Fort Collins, Colorado; seven step-great grandchildren, Jason (Bridgett) Crawmer, Justin Crawmer, Jared (Jessica) Crawmer, Jacob Crawmer and Zachary McPherson and Jessica Crawmer, all of Newark, and Travis Denman Crawmer of Fort Collins, Colorado; and four step great-great grandchildren, Dakota Crawmer, Cheyenne Crawmer, Wyatt Crawmer and Hunter Crawmer, all of Newark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice D. Denman, whom she married May 25, 1954, and who died May 26, 1988; and an uncle, Amos Shell on June 20, 1974. Calling hours will be 6 to 9pm Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, Frazeysburg. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, January 3, 2003 at the funeral home with Minister Chuck Horsley officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
