Faye R. McCune, 79, of Newark, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, March 24, 2018 at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio.
Born May 6, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late June E. and Rosa Belle (Adams) Mitchell. She was Baptist by faith and was a retired waitress, having worked for various area restaurants for over 40 years. Faye enjoyed caring and helping others. She was a very generous, giving, caring and forgiving person and, simply put, she loved people.
Surviving are four daughters, Debra Mortine and Peggy Rich, both of Newark, Dava Rich of Columbus, Ohio and Sharon Helmondollar of Zanesville; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Glenn Mitchell of Cooperdale, Ohio and Verlin Mitchell of Frazeysburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard A. "Dick" McCune whom she married January 27, 1978 and who died April 9, 2014; a sister, Velva Potts and her step-father, Chalmer Corns.
Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Van Winkle officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
