Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG ? Everett J. Priest, 75, of 941 West Main Street, Newark, Ohio, died at 7:30pm Friday, August 30, 2002 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. Born September 3, 1926 in Fallsburg, Ohio, he was the son of the late Logan and Nellie (McArtor) Priest and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired supervisor from Kaiser Aluminum Company of Heath, Ohio, and owner of Priest & Sons Body Shop of Newark. Mr. Priest was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Newark, Newark Lodge #97, F. & A. M., the Scottish Rite, the Aladdin Shire, and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are two sons, Thomas Lee (Darlene) Priest of Choctaw, Oklahoma, and Randolph Francis (Joan) Priest of Jacksontown, Ohio; two daughters, Sharon Ann (Frank) Winters of Utica, Ohio, and Annette (Jon) Wilkinson of Newark; six grandchildren, Christina Stansberry, Abigale Wilkinson, Amelia Wilkinson and Adreana Wilkinson, all of Newark, and Thomas Scott (Brittney) Priest of Porterfield, Indiana, and Jaay Richard Priest of Jacksontown; one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Stansberry of Newark, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty M. (Offenbaker) Priest, whom he married May 1, 1945 and who died October 24, 2001; a son Terry Jay Priest; five brothers and four sisters. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at Vensil-Orr Funeral Home in Frazeysburg. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Imhoff officiating. Burial will be in Fallsburg Cemetery.
