G. Evelyn Vickers, 87, of Dresden, died at 11PM Friday May 23, 2003 at the home of her son, Roger Vickers, in Dresden. Mrs. Vickers was born January 31, 1916 in Dresden, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Reed) Pritchard. Mrs. Vickers was a member of the Trinway United Methodist Church and a charter member of American Legion Post #399 in Dresden. She was also a member of VFW in Dresden and enjoyed the Dresden Senior Center Craft Club. Mrs. Vickers had worked at Cassady?s Drug Store, Senter?s Dry Cleaning and Good Samaritan Medical Center. Surviving are her children, Donald (Evelyn) Vickers, of Coshocton, Richard (Janet) Vickers, Charles (Shirley) Vickers, and Roger (Sharon) Vickers all of Dresden; Ann (Don) Bower of West Lafayette, Judy (Jack) Black of Oak Hill, Oh, 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Her husband, Donald A. Vickers, Sr., whom she married August 17, 1933, died on June 11, 1987 and her sister, Louise Lacy also preceded her in death. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 Tuesday May 27, 2003 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Dresden where services will be held Wednesday at 1PM with Pastor Tadd Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinway United Methodist Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
