Evelyn I. Gonzales, 83, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, formerly of Dixon, Illinois, died Friday evening, December 14, 2018 at her home.

Born August 20, 1935 in Mendota, Illinois she was a daughter of the late John E. Jenkins, Sr. and the late Mary (Overman) Jenkins. Mrs. Gonzales was a graduate of Dixon High School. She enjoyed reading, playing BINGO, taking care of her dogs and being with her family.

Surviving are two sons, Royal Gonzales, Jr. and David (Gena) Gonzales both of Sterling, Illinois; four daughters, Timmie (Bill) Gault and Anna (Ron) Guthrie, both of Frazeysburg, Karyl Gonzales and Barbara (Gordon) Young of Sterling; thirteen grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are four sisters, Juanita (Needy) Myers of Dixon, Bonnie Hoeper of Visalia, California, Joyce Godt of Dixon and Julia Hoggins of Torrance, California and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Royal D. Gonzales, Sr. whom she married June 20, 1953 and who died December 6, 2001; an infant brother, Tommy; two brothers, John Jenkins, Jr. and Richard Jenkins and two sisters, Midge Cavanaugh and Patsy Ross.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
