FRAZEYSBURG – Eunice Irene Conaway, 94, of Newark, Ohio died Friday morning, August 26, 2011 at Arlington Nursing Home in Newark.
Born September 17, 1916 in Glouster, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Chester and Delma (Dewland) Post and was a graduate of Glouster High School. For many years Mrs. Conaway was secretary at Neal Avenue United Methodist Church where she had been a member since 1949. She also served as secretary for several other churches in the area over the years. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and singing in the church choir.
Surviving are two sons, Brent P. Conaway of Nashport, Ohio and Dr. Lincoln C. Conaway of Cornelius, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Scott R. Conaway, David E. Conaway, Wade A. (Susan) Conaway, Lorraine Jefferson, Cheryl (Michael) Ramirez and Wendy L. Steve; seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Marissa, Rylee, Camryn, Alexandra, Brianna and Jacob; a sister, Marguerite Dew of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; her very close friends, Harold and Liz Hayden, Dick and Carol Hayden, Sara Jane Gregory, Evelyn Granger and Jane Mitchell as well as many church friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Garmon E. Conaway whom she married in August, 1937 and who died in January, 1976; and a sister, Beulah Dew.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery at a later date.
