Private funeral services will be held for Eugenia L. ?Jeanne? Stanton, 73 of Newark. Mrs. Stanton died Monday, May 19, 2008 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born December 31, 1934 in New York, NY to the late Emmanuel and Louise (Reagan) Raisis. Mrs. Stanton was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. She was a waitress at several area restaurants including, Licking Springs Trout Club, New Old Landmark, Perkins, LK and Dagwoods. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, ceramics and bingo. She loved her family and was always involved with their many activities. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Albert S. Stanton, whom she married October 15, 1952; children, Albert E. (Melodie) Stanton of Sacramento, CA., James E. Stanton of Thornville, Susanne (Rick) Costa of Newark, Christopher E. (Jean) Stanton of Hampshire, IL., Daniel E Stanton of Columbus, Timothy E. (Stefanie) Stanton of Newark; sister, Marina ?Renne? (Jim) Cappeta of Trafford, PA.; brother, Dr. James (Ruth) Raisis of Seattle, WA.; twenty grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be observed 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2008 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital, or a favorite charity.
