A funeral service for Esther Wright, 95 of Newark will be held Thursday September 22, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Eva Marie Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be observed from 10:00 a.m. until services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wright died Monday September 19, 2022 at Arlington Care Center. She was born November 5, 1926 in Flushing, OH to the late Antonio and Balbina (Lucci) Gualtieri.

Esther had been employed by Newark Stove and Dr. Messick's office. She served as an aide at Cherry Valley Elementary School and assisted children with special needs. She also volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital and the American Red Cross. She was a member of Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority and Neal Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a former member of Cox United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was an avid OSU Buckeye football fan and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include her son, Timothy Wright of Newark; daughter-in-law, Deborah Wright of Gahanna; numerous nieces and nephews including Pat (John) DiBasio; close friends, Mary Hannum, William Zornes and daughter Sarah Zornes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wright; son, Jeffrey Wright; grandson, Nathan Wright; siblings, Anna (Charles) DiBlasio, Lucy (Franklin) McPeck, Jennie (William) Gough, Alfred Gualtieri, William (Antoinette) Gualtieri and August (Thelma) Gualtieri.
