Esther E. Stanley, 80, of Zanesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 2:03AM Monday January 3, 2005. Mrs. Stanley was born November 28, 1924 in Chauncey, Ohio, a daughter of the late Oliver and Goldie (Robinette) Stalling. She had retired from United Technologies and was a member of Maranatha Bible Church. Surviving are two daughters, Joan (Gerald) Newell, Brenda Stanley both of Zanesville, three grandchildren, Richard (Heather) Newell of Dresden, Jerry Newell of Columbus, Michele (John) Devoll of Zanesville, great grandchildren, Dustin (Gina) Newell of Zanesville, Joshua C. Newell of Zanesville, MacKenzie J. Newell of Dresden, Kaleigh R. Devoll of Zanesville, step-great grandchildren, Mariah N. Bowen of Dresden, Steeler G. Bowen of Dresden, Justin G. Devoll of Zanesville, Leandra N. Russi of Zanesville; brothers in law, Raymond (June) Davis of Nelsonville, Max Prater of Columbus, and sister in law Marie Stalling of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Austin Stanley on May 9, 1991, and whom she had married Dec. 16, 1939; four brothers, Robert, Raymond, Ernest (Mitch), and Ed Stalling; sisters, Hazel Bullock, Edith (Sis) Prater, Mary Stimel and a great grandson, Brian Lee Newell. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8PM Wednesday January 5, 2005 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:30PM Thursday with Pastor Dale McCallister officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Church Cemetery.
