Esther Louise Middlemus Mizer, age 93, passed away on November 16, 2016, at Jessie Mae Homes assisted living in Columbus, Ohio. She was a resident of Newark, Ohio for most of her life.
She was born on January 6, 1923, in Frazeysburg, Muskingum Co. to the late Alan Josiah "Si" Middlemus and Arsula Lucille Anderson Middlemus. She graduated from Union High School, and married Edwin Byron "Boots" Mizer.
She was employed for many years as an office manager at Coppers in Newark and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mizer was passionate about caring for people and volunteered through Women's Benefit Association, and Business and Professional Women's Foundation.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Linda Kay Mizer of Columbus, a nephew Mark (Angie Foster) Middlemus, and nieces Molly (Morad) Saheli, of Lancaster, and Mindy Heston of Central Ohio; and by special friends Don and Beth Green, Vanessa Gettys, John and Denice Spring, and Diane Nutter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband (2003) of 60 years, sister, Ruth Marie Middlemus Smith of Delaware Co. (1966), and brother, Charles Wayne Middlemus of Muskingum Co. (2015).
Friends will be received at Vensil and Chute Funeral Home 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg at 10:00am to 10:30am on Saturday November 19, 2016 followed by a graveside service at Frazeysburg Cemetery officiated by Rev. Steve Rath.
