A funeral service for Ernest R. New, 71, of Hebron will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday March 15, 2006 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Bartlette, officiating. A time of fellowship and remembrance will follow the service in the funeral home?s Family Center. Mr. New died Sunday March 12, 2006 at his home. He was born September 13, 1934 in Peach Creek, West Virginia, to the late David and Nancy (Bowen) New. Mr. New was a member of the Church of God of Licking County and the Newark Eagles. He enjoyed playing pool and Texas Hold?em. Mr. New is survived by his wife Carol (Eisnnicher) New, whom he married September 25, 1972; sons, David New of Columbus, Michael New of Smithville, Mississippi, Adrean New of Cyril, Oklahoma, and Ronny (Stacey) Forrest of Newark; daughters, Ernestine New, Donna New, both of Columbus, Darlene New, Denise Holcomb, both of Cyril, Oklahoma, Carolyn Forrest, of Newark, Tammy (Carl) Sandlin of Huntington, Indiana, Cindy Forrest of Kansas City, Kansas, and Robin (Ty) Fink of Newark; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m on Wednesday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
