FRAZEYSBURG – Emma "Hazel" Miller-Powell-Satterfield died August 26, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital as the result of a fall in her home.
Hazel was born March 26, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Elmer and Emma Miller. She was the remaining of seven siblings, having lost brothers Willard, Kenneth and Alton and sisters Alberta, Phyllis and Jeannie. Hazel was also preceded in death by her husbands, Martin Curtis Powell, the father of her children, and Charles M. Satterfield.
Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis (Dick) Biller, Martha (Larry) Shrigley and Wanda (Dave) Schweitzer; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Hazel enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and baking. Her generosity and sunny disposition will be missed by many.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be at 11:00am Monday, August 29, 2011 at Hanover Cemetery with her son in-law, Larry Shrigley officiating.
