A funeral service for Elsie M. Parker, 77 of Newark will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Parker died Wednesday July 22, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 25, 1931 in Shadyside, Ohio to the late Bernhardt and Anna N. (Grasser) Temminck. Mrs. Parker retired as a clerk from the Harts Big Bear Store and has been employed for 25 years with Riley?s Bakery as a cake decorator. She had attended the Newark Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading and family gatherings. She is survived by her children, Robert L. (Peggie) Parker of Newark, Thomas B. (Beth) Parker of Newark, Donna A. (Paul) Buchanan of Rockford, Diane P. (LeRoy) Bennett of Heath, Debra K. (John) Ramsey of Newark, Mike (Rebecca) Parker of Waukesha, WI.; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Parker in 1974 and two sisters. Calling hours will be observed Monday July 27, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
