Elsie Yvonne "Bonnie" Pierce, age 79 of Newark died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Willowbrook Christian Village in Delaware, Ohio. Mrs. Pierce was born January 23, 1932 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Alvin and Mary White.

Mrs. Pierce was a loving, stay at home Mom. She was an accomplished seamstress. She made many wedding dresses and uniforms for the Newark Police Department. She enjoyed square dancing, bluegrass and gospel music. She had attended Church of God, God's Acres.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Pierce-Blinn (Tim) of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren, Bryan Percoco of Cincinnati, Amanda Percoco of Newark; great grandson, Gavin Lockhardt; sisters, Camilla Jones of Jasper, AK, Juanita White of Brownsville, TX, Vertis Land of Dallas, TX; sister-in-laws, Geraldine Pruitt of Charleston, SC, Laura Brasil of Jasper, AK, Oneita Meadows of Springdale, AK; several nieces, nephews and cousins, the Mathias family, in the Newark area.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Pierce, March 2, 1988; sisters, Virginia White, Roberta Beckham; brother, Cameron White; brother-in-laws, Johnnie Pierce, Odell Pierce and James Pierce.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday June 26, 2011 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.

Calling hours will be observed from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
