Ellen L. Mahon, 94, of Dresden, died at 11:40PM Thursday November 28, 2002 at the Adams Lane Care Center. Mrs. Mahon was born December 18, 1907 in Morgan County, a daughter of the late John H. and Mary F. (Mitchell) Brooks. She was a member of the Dresden United Methodist Church. Surviving are children, Robert (Ruth) Mahon of Coshocton, Stanley D. (Valerie) Mahon, Jr., of Dresden, Virginia Hartman of Philo, Edith (Joe) Gordon of Zanesville, Judy (Bernard) Hamilton of Dresden, a daughter in law, Delores Mahon of Philo, 28 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley D. Mahon, Sr., whom she married April 5, 1928 on June 30, 1982; a daughter, Eleanor Bice on April 17, 1991; a son, John Mahon on July 29, 1987; a son in law, Robert Hartman on September 21, 1986; a great grandson, Allen Wagner on December 9, 1997; a brother Kenneth Brooks and a sister, Frances White. Friends may call 5PM-8PM Sunday December 1, 2002 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral home in Dresden. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Monday a the Dresden U. Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating, burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Assoc. or the Dresden U. Methodist Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
