Ellen Bowden, 72, of Adamsville, died Tuesday morning October 31, 2006 at The Helen Purcell Home following a short battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 8, 1934 in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Walter and Naomi (Swingle) Sherrick. Surviving are her husband, Donald Bowden, two sons, Jeffery (Thelma) Bowden, Fritz Bowden both of Adamsville; two daughters, Eva Bowden of Adamsville and Lucy (Kenneth) Lighthizer of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Brian (Nicci) Lowther, Emily Lowther, Jereme Bowden, Kelse Lighthizer; one great grandson Mason Lowther, one brother, Jerry Sherrick, two sisters, Elaine (Bernard) Bissett and Rita (Elden) Sarbaugh. Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant brother. At the request of the deceased, the body will be cremated and no services held.
