Elizabeth "Anne" Winterhalter Doughty, 77, of Coshocton, Ohio died Monday morning, November 5, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born March 1, 1941 in Crystal City, Texas she was a daughter of the late James D. and Corda Mae (Deal) Hardaway and was a 1959 graduate of Crystal City High School and was the class valedictorian. She later received her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from The Ohio State University.  Anne had many different occupations over the years and was a cook at Keene Elementary School in Keene, Ohio for many years.  Most recently she was an independent personal aide for persons with disabilities, mostly for her grandson, Zach, with autism.  She was very active in volunteer work at several area churches and the Hope Clinic of Coshocton, as well as many other organizations.  She was the happiest with her family, cooking and baking and she was well known for her pies.  Anne enjoyed sewing, playing cards and watching Ohio State football.

Surviving is her husband, Walter F. Doughty, whom she married October 9, 1999. Two sons, William D. Winterhalter of Kenton, Ohio and Kenneth D. Winterhalter of Coshocton; one daughter, Holly Anne (Chuck McLoughlin) Baker of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Hilgefort, Wesley Winterhalter, Emily Winterhalter, Frazier Baker and Zachary Baker; a niece, Janice (Richard) Kopecky and an uncle, Kenneth (Shirley) Deal.  Also surviving are her step children, Robert (Kathy) Doughty and Karen (Bill) Chanay; her step grandchildren, Michelle Doughty, Mackenzie Doughty, Megan (Jason) Hursey and Matthew Chanay and several step great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, William "Bill" Winterhalter, whom she married June 6, 1959 and who died January 4, 1997 and a sister, Janice Etter.

Calling hours will be 2pm to 5pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

A celebration of Anne's life will be at 5:00pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Mesnard officiating.
