A funeral service for Eileen Elizabeth Snyder, 77, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday August 18, 2004 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Mrs. Snyder died August 15, 2004 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 26, 1926 in Newark to the late Desso and Mary Ellen (Crooks) Victor. She had worked for Halmark and Arcade Pharmacy but took special pride in being a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed baking and gardening. She was a United Methodist by faith. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Carl R. Snyder, whom she married April 16, 1947; five sons, Mike (June) Snyder of Ankeny, IA., Patrick (Vee) Snyder of Spring, TX., Terrance Snyder of Newark, Richard (Terri) Snyder of Pickerington, and Jay (Marcia) Snyder of St. Cloud, FL.; two daughters, Kathleen Snyder of Newark, and Marianne (Kim) Rieck of New Albany; two sisters, Geraldine (Charles) Montanaro of Tampa, FL., and Maxine Perge of Newark; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
