A funeral service for Eileen J. Johnson, 86 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Denman officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.

Eileen passed away Sunday at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. She was born November 2, 1926 in Newark to the late Darwin W. and Bernice (Hoyt) Galbraith. She was a 1947 graduate of Christ Hospital School of Nursing and retired from Licking Memorial Hospital in 1986. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newark.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 65 years, Fred Johnson, whom she married June 19, 1948; a son, Greg (Karla) Johnson of Pickerington; a grandson, Jim (Jennelle) Johnson of Newark; and three great-grandchildren, Brennin, Brycen, and Brynley Johnson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Galbraith.
