NEWARK ? Funeral services for Edward A. Zimmerman, 89, of Newark, Ohio will be 1:00pm Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Long officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery. Mr. Zimmerman died Thursday morning in the Heritage Unit of Newark Health Care Center. Born October 19, 1915 in Newark, he was the son of the late Burton and Rachel (Wise) Zimmerman and was a graduate of Newark High School. He retired in 1978 from Owens-Corning Fiberglass and was a part time farmer. Mr. Zimmerman was a member of the Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church, Licking County Rock and Mineral Society, Licking Valley Lions Club and was an Honorary member of Licking Valley FFA Alumni Association. Surviving is one son and daughter in-law, Arlan and Nancy Zimmerman of Newark, three grandchildren, Diane (Jamie) Gorgus, Kyle Zimmerman and Mark Zimmerman; one brother, Ross (Lydia) Zimmerman of Newark; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Violet (Shelton) Zimmerman, whom he married February 28, 1941 and who died August 28, 1989; one brother, George Zimmerman and three sisters, Blanche Woods, Mae Rider and Mary Myers. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, June 5, 2005 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
