A private family funeral service for Edward A. Bevard, 91 of Heath will be held at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Skiles officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bevard passed peacefully at his residence Saturday evening February 13, 2021. He was born January 27, 1930 in Newark to Chester A. and Nellie M. (Westenbarger) Bevard. Ed was an accomplished musician playing is several bands including the Dynatones and Five Notes
Ed was a 1947 graduate of Newark High School. He retired in 1985 from Rockwell International after 38 years of service. He was also a member of UAW Local #1037. He attended the Heath Christian Union Church. Ed was a member of Acme Lodge F & AM for over 65 years. He was also a member of the Teheran Grotto. He served in Guam while in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Erin Lennon) Bevard of Heath, William (Connie) Bevard of Newark, Tammy( Keith) Sarver of Youngstown, Ron (Pat) Petty of Leesburg, FL, Doug (Mary) Petty of Hurricane, UT, Bruce Petty of Newark; aunt, Iva Rose Stradley of Newark; sister-in-law, Barbara Bevard of Heath; grandchildren, Joe (Heidi) Bevard, Jeremy (Dawn) Bevard, Jay Bevard, Stephanie (Tim) Lorek, Erin (Brian) Sluder, Leslie (Greg) Kraning, Shawn Petty, Nathan Sarver, Lindsey Sarver; great-grandchildren, Joshua Bevard, Emilee Bevard, August Bevard, Marley Bevard, Claire Lorek, Jamie Lorek, Zach Sluder, Gabi Sluder, Jackson Kraning, Dakota Campbell; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Almeda (Stalling) Bevard in 2017 and a brother, Earl D. Bevard.
