Obituary

Edna E. Rogers Swank, 88, of Dresden, died at 1:20AM Wednesday February 1, 2006 at Genesis Extended Care in Zanesville. She had been in failing health for the last two years. Born May 26, 1917 in Nunnley, TN, she was the daughter of the late Walla and Ethel (Harrington) Easley. Mrs. Swank had worked as a nurse?s aid at Good Samaritan Medical Center for 20 years. She was a member of the Trinway U. Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary to Post #399 in Dresden and enjoyed traveling and had visited every state in the nation except Alaska. Surviving are two daughters, Earlene (Jerry) Davis of Dresden, Charlene (Gene) Prince of Trinway, five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special dear friend, Jerry Lacy of Dresden. She was preceded in death by a son, Tom Rogers on August 15, 1971; two sisters, Christine Robison and Maxine Androsky and a brother, Walla (Junior) Easley. Friends may call from 3-6PM Thursday February 2, 2006 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30AM Friday with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinway U. Methodist Church, P.O. Box 356, Trinway, OH 43842.
