Edmund D. Prince, 77, of Dresden, Ohio died Thursday morning, April 16, 2015 at his home.
Born April 1, 1938 in Dresden, he was a son of the late John O. and Alice M. (Skinner) Prince and was a 1956 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Edmund retired in 2002 from Peabody Coal where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a former Cass township trustee serving for 12 years and he enjoyed golfing and mowing and caring for his farm.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Toni (Cannon) Prince whom he married June 23, 1956; a son Edmund Dean (Evelyn) Prince of Dresden; a daughter, Pamela (Scott) Moore of Dresden; three grandchildren, Katie James, Chelsea (Michael) Lawler and Deidre Prince; two step grandchildren Sarah Moore and Heather (Ross) Barr; a great granddaughter, Penelope Lawler; three brothers, Richard (Martha) Prince of Trinway, Paul (Daune) Prince and Dale (Patty) Prince, both of Dresden; two sisters, Martha Lear and Dorothy (Dave) Summers, both of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Prince, who died in 1979, a brother, William Prince; a brother and sister in-law, Gene and Charlene Prince; a sister, Mary Louise Prince and a brother in-law, Roger Lear.
Calling hours will be from 11am to 2pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Inboden officiating. Burial will be in the Dresden Cemetery.
