Edith C. Robbins, 68, of Perryton, Ohio died Monday morning, December 25, 2017 in the Selma Markowitz Care Center in Newark, Ohio.
Born June 14, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Alberta (Coleman) Winland and was a 1967 graduate of Philo High School. She was a member of the Fallsburg Baptist Church. Mrs. Robbins was a homemaker, but she was also very active in her community. For 19 years she served as an EMT on the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department. Edith also served the fire department as its President and as Secretary/Treasurer and as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was always willing to help anyone in the community in a time of need and she enjoyed sewing, crafting, camping and reading.
Surviving is her loving husband of 50 years, Richard R. Robbins whom she married June 25, 1967; a daughter, Lisa Wheeler of Thornville, Ohio; a son, Sean Robbins (Brandy) of Newark; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Walpole, Kristina Longendyke, Jaqueline Robbins, Kendra Robbins, Kimberly Robbins, Daniel Wheeler and Emma Wheeler; two great grandchildren, Clayton and Payton Walpole; two half-sisters and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a half-brother.
Calling hours will 5pm to 8pm Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:30pm Friday, December 29, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Roger McElfresh officiating. Burial will be in Perryton Cemetery.
