Edith M. Flowers, 85, of Hanover, Ohio died Tuesday evening, July 26, 2016 at her home with her loving family at her side.
Born June 19, 1931 in Frazeysburg, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Bart and Lillian (Westerville) Wright and was a 1949 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. She was a homemaker and was Methodist by faith. Edith was a founding member of the Licking Valley Heritage Society and a member of the Ohio Country-Western Music Association. She loved baking pies and would bake as many as 50 pies in a day to serve at dances and other activities at Flowers Hall.
Surviving is her loving husband of 66 years, Chester H. Flowers whom she married April 9, 1950; one daughter, Darla (Roger) Cozzens of Hanover; four sons, Duane (Marty) Flowers of Hanover, Dwight (Glenda) Flowers of Nashport, Donald C. (Beth) Flowers of Hanover and Dean Flowers of Hanover; eleven grandchildren; Angi (Steve) Sidwell, Marsha (Travis) Johnson, Richmond (Lena) Flowers, Nicole (Kelsey) Gieseler, Michael Flowers, Mitchell Flowers, Matthew (Jillian Rine) Flowers, Tyler (Annie) Flowers, Brady Flowers, Jesse Flowers and Jolie Flowers and nine great grandchildren; Alexis, Tori, Leland, Maggie, Jacqueline, Jackson, Easton, Emma Grace and Anna Kate. Also surviving are two brothers, Joe Wright of New Center, Tennessee and Wayne (Carol Sue) Wright of Heath, Ohio; four sisters, Evelyn (Kenneth) Sidle of Hanover, Dorothy Feasil of Columbus, Ohio, Anna Wolford of Dresden, Ohio and Clarabelle Fairall of Frazeysburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Corder, Betty German and Ruth Bodine and a great granddaughter, Zoee Bree Sidwell.
The Flowers family wishes to give a very special thanks to Hospice of Central Ohio and to her nurse and caregiver, Sofie Norris.
Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
