FRAZEYSBURG â?? Edgar E. â??Eddieâ? Miller, 92, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Wednesday afternoon, September 8, 2010 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born May 5, 1918 in Jackson Township of Muskingum County, he was the son of the late George W. and Nora M. (Chaney) Miller and was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Miller was retired from Shelley & Sands Company where he was an asphalt roller operator and he was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Union, Local #18. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving is his wife, Betty J. (Neville) Miller whom he married June 28, 1963; three son, Thomas E. Miller of Tampa, Florida, Timothy L. (Debra) Miller and Craig E. (Connie) Miller, both of Frazeysburg; four daughters, Donna (Joe) Barclay of Zanesville, Janice (Harvey) Howard of Troy, Ohio, Ruth Ann (Gene) Robison of Frazeysburg and Sara (Dave) Berry of West Carlisle, Ohio; four step-sons, Ronnie (Donna) Shepherd of Newark, Ohio, David (Donna) Hood of Dresden, Ohio, Jeff (Saylor) Hood of Frazeysburg and Dennis (Sheila) Hood of Philo, Ohio; five step-daughters, Martha (Orville) Paxson of Dresden, Mary (Sam) Hinkle of Corning, Ohio, Vonda (Gary) Baldwin of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cindy Hood and Ethel (John) Pierce, both of Frazeysburg; a sister, Mary Gompf of Zanesville; a step-son in-law, Gene Alfman of Zanesville; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one step-grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; thirty-six step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie M. (Neville) Miller who died July 14, 1961; one step-son, Charles Hood; one step-daughter, Nancy Alfman; two grandchildren, Brandon Miller and Corey Howard; one step grandchild; four brothers, Ernest, Chester, Russell and Clarence Miller; five sisters, Gertrude Miller, Bertha Carnel, Paulina Kortwright, Zelma Needs and Nellie Thompson and a brother in-law, Charlie Gompf.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, September 13, 2010 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray C. Morrison, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
