Edgar R. Bice, 74, of Dresden, Ohio died Tuesday morning, December 2, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born October 10, 1940 in Dresden he was a son of the late Jacob and Lucille (Randall) Bice and was a 1960 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Ed was a retired machine tender with Stone Container/Smurf's Paper Company of Coshocton. He was a member of Dresden St. Ann Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Edith M. (Little) Bice, whom he married May 6, 1961; three sons, Martin D. (Linda) Bice of Dresden, Duane A. Bice of Caldwell, Ohio and Darren C. Bice of Dresden; eleven grandchildren, Lindsay (Bryan) Conley, Samantha (Danny) Mizer, Adam Bice, Nicholas Bice, Michael (Joelle) Bice, Janelle Bice, Jason Bice, Maranda Bice, Jeremiah Bice, Courtney Bice and Katlyn Bice; five great grandchildren, Dylon Bice, Sydney Baum, Zayia Bice, Jackson and Addison Conley; three brothers, Louis (Terry) Bice of Dresden, Rodney (Mary) Bice of Cooperdale, Ohio and William (Jackie) Bice of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Easley and a daughter in-law, Jody L. Pickenpaugh Bice.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Christian Wake services will be at 8pm Thursday following calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 405 Chestnut Street, Dresden with the Rev. Father Donald Franks as celebrant. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
