DRESDEN – Duane C. Smith, 44, of Dresden, Ohio, formerly of Akron, Ohio died Thursday morning, June 7, 2012 at his home in Dresden.
Born March 4, 1968 in Akron, Ohio he was the son of Leonard C. Smith of Akron and the late Debra J. (Hall) Smith Frum. He was a 1986 graduate of Springfield High School near Akron and was employed as an insulator with the Local 84 of Akron/Youngstown. Duane enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter and he also enjoyed cooking for all his family and friends. He never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone at anytime.
Surviving in addition to his father is his wife, Jennifer L. (Preston) Smith whom he married October 5, 2006; two sons, Cory Smith and Nicholas Pappas, both of Dresden; three sisters, Stacy (Smith) Robert Frum and Michelle (Smith) Patterson both of Akron and Carolyn (Smith) Johann of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandmother, Virginia I. Smith of Akron; his step-mother, Barbara Smith of Akron; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial services will be at 5:00pm Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Prospect United Methodist Church, Prospect Church Road, Dresden, Ohio with the Rev. Sharon Williamson officiating.
