Douglas J. "Doug" Black, 60, of Zanesville, Ohio died Thursday morning, November 15, 2018 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Born January 3, 1958 in Zanesville he was a son of the late Roy and Dorothy (Caldwell) Black and was a 1976 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Doug was a supervisor in the manufacturing business and he attended Coburn United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, collecting toy tractors and football.
Surviving is his loving wife, Anita L. (Martin) Black whom he married August 23, 1992; two sons, Adam Black of Dresden, Ohio and Ashton (Katie) Black of Frazeysburg, Ohio; three daughters, Ashley (Brian) Wilson and Amy (Chad) Miller, both of Zanesville and Allison (Kip) Larison of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Lincoln, Myah and Connor; a brother, Jack Black of Dresden and his special friends, Emil and Sandy Pisch of Nashport, Ohio
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Rose Evenson.
Calling hours will be 1pm to 4pm Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
A celebration of Doug's life will be at 6:00pm Monday, November 19, 2018 at Coburn United Methodist Church, 3618 Maple Avenue, Zanesville with Pastor Justin Williams officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, Post Office 101, Dresden, Ohio 43822 for expenses.
